Circumcision & Vasectomy in Hoppers Crossing

Lead Circumcision & Vasectomy Doctor at Hoppers Crossing

Meet Your Doctor: Dr. Shehab Abdalla

Dr. Shehab Abdalla leads clinical care at Circumcision Vasectomy Australia’s Hoppers Crossing location.

  • AHPRA Registered Medical Practitioner — Dr. Abdalla holds current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), the national body responsible for regulating registered health practitioners in Australia. (Registration number: MED0001930473)
  • RACGP-Recognised GP Supervisor — Dr. Abdalla is recognised by the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) as a GP Supervisor, actively involved in training and mentoring the next generation of general practitioners in Australia. This supervisory role reflects a high standard of clinical competency, teaching ability, and peer-recognised expertise.
  • Procedural Experience — Dr. Abdalla has extensive hands-on experience performing over 1400 circumcision and vasectomy procedures per year for patients across a wide range of ages and clinical circumstances.
  • Patient-Centred Approach — Every consultation includes a clear explanation of the procedure, risks, benefits, and alternatives, so patients can make a fully informed decision about their care.

Dr. Abdalla’s dual role as a treating clinician and RACGP-recognised GP supervisor means patients are cared for by a doctor held to ongoing professional education, peer review, and training standards — not just a proceduralist performing a single service.

Services Available at Hoppers Crossing

Adult Circumcision

Performed under local anaesthetic in a clinical setting, with a focus on minimising discomfort and downtime. Common reasons patients seek adult circumcision include phimosis, recurrent balanitis, lichen sclerosis, personal preference, or religious/cultural reasons.

Infant & Child Circumcision

A safe, quick procedure for newborns and young boys, performed by an experienced practitioner using modern techniques, with clear pre- and post-procedure guidance provided to parents.

No-Scalpel Vasectomy

A minimally invasive, permanent form of contraception performed under local anaesthetic. The no-scalpel technique is associated with less bleeding, lower infection risk, and faster recovery compared to traditional incision methods.

Consultations & Pre-Procedure Assessment

Every patient receives a thorough consultation to assess suitability, discuss the procedure in plain language, and address any questions or concerns before proceeding.

Still have questions?

Frequently asked questions

Is circumcision safe for adults?

Adult circumcision is a routine day procedure when performed by an experienced, circumcision specialist. As with any procedure, it carries some risk (such as bleeding, infection, or swelling), which your doctor will discuss with you during your consultation.

How long does recovery take after a vasectomy?

Most patients return to light activity within 2–3 days and to normal activity, including exercise, within 2 weeks. Your doctor will provide specific aftercare instructions tailored for you.

Is a vasectomy reversible?

Vasectomy should be considered a permanent form of contraception. While reversal procedures exist, they are not guaranteed to restore fertility and are not offered as part of our service. You should be confident in your decision before proceeding.

Do I need a GP referral to book?

No. You can simply call or book a circumcision or vasectomy online. We make the administrative aspects of having a procedure easy and safe for you.

Who performs the procedures?

All procedures are performed by AHPRA-registered doctors, led by Dr. Shahb Abdalla, who is also recognised by the RACGP as a GP Supervisor.

How far in advance should I book if I'm travelling from outside Hoppers Crossing?
